Intro

Promera operates in data centers and critical facilities — environments where uptime is non-negotiable and a single contamination event can trigger a business crisis. They entered 2025 with a new name and no infrastructure to run it. JA Design came in as fractional Creative Director and built the brand system from the mark outward.

The Challenge
A new name, and no infrastructure to run it.
Promera operates in data centers and critical facilities, where a single contamination event can trigger a business crisis. They'd built a new name to signal that precision. What they didn't have was a system to deploy it.
No brand governance, no templates, flat email performance, and no documented strategic lens. A new logo can't fix a governance problem — without a system behind it, a rebrand dissolves into noise within six months.
Work
The Approach
We protect the whitespace.
Early conversations with Promera's VP of Marketing surfaced the insight that anchored everything: the literal clean space inside data centers that must stay immaculate, because contamination doesn't create a maintenance problem — it creates a business crisis. If that's the service, the brand had to operate the same way: clean, ordered, and intentional at every touchpoint. That single lens filtered every decision that followed.
  • Brand guidelines and design system — visual language standards, typographic governance, and color rules that let a growing team create consistently without agency sign-off
  • Custom iconography — a proprietary icon set extending the brand's vocabulary into technical and service contexts
  • Email design and template framework — campaign architecture that replaced ad hoc layouts with a repeatable, on-brand system
  • Social media campaign assets — templated and custom work built to hold the identity across a high-volume output environment
  • Event booth and print marketing — physical touchpoints performing the same identity the digital channels established
  • Brand templates for internal use — production-ready assets the team could use immediately
Brand inconsistency in a precision services company is its own kind of contamination. The system was built to prevent it — clean, ordered, and intentional across every channel it touched.
The Implication
When the infrastructure is right, every channel performs better.
A new logo can't fix a governance problem. This engagement is proof that brand systems — not just marks — are what let a rebrand hold: email click rates 16x the service category average, engagement up 47%, and zero brand drift across 83 projects, all built on a single organizing lens.
That's the difference between a rebrand and a brand system.
